Professional Experience

Lan Li has long specialized in international arbitration, cross-border litigation, cross-border dispute mediation and settlement, cross-border compliance and cross-border transactions. He also has extensive experience in assisting Chinese companies dealing with trade, investment, and compliance-related legal matters in going global. He is a committee member of the FDI Moot Global Case Review Board and an adjunct professor at School of Law at Renmin University of China.

In the field of international arbitration, Mr. Li has represented clients in a number of commercial or investment arbitrations before the ad hoc arbitral tribunal or the permanent arbitration institutions such as the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), and the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), in the areas of international trade, product quality, distribution contracts, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and construction projects, etc.

In the field of cross-border litigation, Mr. Li has assisted clients in a large number of litigations in U.S. courts (including federal and state courts), as well as civil litigations in Chinese courts on behalf of both domestic and foreign clients, in the areas of international trade, product quality, consumers' rights and interests, intellectual property rights, corporate litigations and unfair competition, etc. In the area of cross-border mediation and conciliation, Mr. Li has assisted clients in conducting numerous settlement negotiations or mediation with parties from different countries or regions, and has successfully settled a large number of cross-border commercial disputes.

In the area of cross-border compliance, Mr. Li has assisted clients in responding to a large number of compliance investigations from overseas regulatory authorities and in conducting a large number of cross-border compliance projects, covering product performance and security compliance, personal privacy and data compliance, export control and sanction compliance, corporate governance compliance, consumer rights and interests protection compliance, advertisement compliance, and e-commerce platform policy compliance, etc. He is also qualified as a European Union Data Compliance Professional (CIPP/E).

In the area of cross-border transactions, Mr. Li has assisted in the design and negotiation of a large number of contracts for international distribution cooperation, international trade, joint ventures, intellectual property licensing and equity acquisitions.
